Chemical Engineering

nellicka@ualberta.ca LinkedIn

Samson Nellickappillil is an undergraduate Chemical Engineering co-op student at the University of Alberta who joined the CCWJ in 2023. His work supports research in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) of P91 steel, a widely used alloy with important applications in Alberta’s energy sector. He is involved in hands-on microscopy and materials characterization to better understand how processing conditions influence material properties.

Samson was drawn to the CCWJ through his strong interest in welding, hands-on research, and the opportunity to apply engineering principles to real-world industry challenges.

Outside of academics, Samson enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and playing sports, including soccer and basketball.
